chipper.

'chipper.' is my Level 7 year-long project, at EIT Ideaschool; a project which commenced as a result of being rewarded the David Fine Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to the top student in Level 6 Design. Part of the scholarship was having the ability to hold an exhibition at the Hastings Community Arts Centre. The exhibitions' intention was to simply to make the community feel HAPPY. Hawke’s Bay needed uplifting of its spirit following what had been a hard year and a bit following Cyclone Gabrielle. The uplifting aspect comes through in the design of the centre piece installation; vibrancy and a demeanour which hopes to create a positive association with weather. The shapes were inspired by PLAY as a process, and behave as a photo opportunity or set.

The installation now resides at the atrium next to the cafeteria at the EIT Taradale campus.

Other elements of the exhibition at the centre included a photographic display and work from Oriane De Lacey (fine artist).
